Quentin Blake

Sir Quentin Blake is probably the most beloved author and illustrator in the UK, as well as being a huge favourite with French readers. He has been the Festival’s patron for 18 years and he’s very kindly given his name to our Children’s Library! He is famous, amongst countless other things, for his illustrations of Roald Dahl’s stories (Charlie & the Chocolate Factory, Mathilda, The Big Friendly Giant…). Quentin Blake is also a great Francophile and knows more than most of us combined about French culture, illustration, poetry and art, spending several months every year on the Atlantic coast of France.
