The South Ken Kids Festival is back for its 24th edition! This year, we welcome some of the most talented children’s writers and illustrators from both sides of the Channel and beyond: Momoko Abe, Clémentine Beauvais, Marc Boutavant, Iris de Moüy, William Grill, Sharon King-Chai, Pauline Martin, Chris Naylor-Ballesteros, Delphine Renon, Axel Scheffler, and Jo Weaver.

Our guests will be giving workshops in more than 40 schools around London, and will also be at the Institut français for exciting public events! Once again, the marvellous Quentin Blake has honoured us by being the festival’s patron, featuring an exhibition of his original works and the premiere of the BBC documentary: Quentin Blake: The Drawing of My Life.

This year we will be celebrating Mother Earth, Jean de la Fontaine’s 400th birthday… and much more!

The festival encourages all participants to be creative and explore the art of drawing and illustration. Brilliantly bilingual throughout, the South Ken Kids Festival is an occasion to celebrate children’s writing, illustration, translation: books in all their glory!

The Institut français throws open its doors to all readers young and old, to listen to a dreamy musical retelling of The Little Prince, watch star illustrators draw, attend family film screenings, or take part in workshops, and learn more about film-making. Don’t miss the festival live drawing performances, including some brilliant drawing duos and the amazing Impro!

Stay tuned! The full programme will be announced soon!
