More for Kids
In addition to the South Ken Kids Festival, the Institut français offers year-round activities and resources for kids, families and schools.
Bibliothèque Quentin Blake
Thanks to the help of our very generous donors, we are extremely proud to present the freshly opened Bibliothèque named after our wonderful patron Quentin Blake! You can borrow all kinds of children’s books from picture albums to graphic novels in the library. More info about the Bibliothèque Quentin Blake can be found here: http://www.institut-francais.org.uk/la-mediatheque/childrens-library/
We will keep you updated on the special programme of drop-in workshops available during the festival on the Bibliothèque Quentin Blake premises. Don’t miss our special l’Ecole des Loisirs story hut, Nature et Découvertes workshops and OKIDO magazine’s exciting fact-filled activities.
Our digital platform Culturethèque, run by our qualified librarians, is an online library featuring more than 400 free ebooks in streaming for kids. We also offer 200 free comic books and audio and video content recorded during previous events at the Institut français.
The Institut français offers a wide range of activities for children and families throughout the year, ranging from film screenings in its in-house cinema to concerts, storytelling sessions and workshops.
We welcome class groups in our South Kensington’s premises and help them discover the best of French culture and language. Come and watch a French film in our cinema, and explore the biggest and most beautiful French library overseas. With our Set French Days, you can immerse your pupils in French culture for a full day with a linguistic or cultural activity and a film screening. You can also book a School Screening only or a French Day à la carte.
