Axel Scheffler

The London based, German-born, illustrator Axel Scheffler is a leading figure of children’s literature in Great Britain and a favourite guest at the South Ken Kids Festival. He has illustrated countless books written by various European authors, and his partnership with Julia Donaldson has been successful for 20 years now, earning comparisons with the legendary duo of Roald Dahl and Quentin Blake. Axel Scheffler is also a Europhile.
