FAQ

Can I buy books during the festival?
Yes! There will be book sellers (La Page,Tales on Moon Lane & The European Bookshop) with stands at the Institut français. They will be selling books by all the authors present at the Festival and much more, in both French and English (when available). Artists will be happy to sign their books!

Will the events be in French or in English?
Most events will be in English, and if the authors do not speak English, there will be a translator.

Can parents attend events with their children?
Most of our festival workshops are for children only: your child will be taken to and from the festival meeting point by two dedicated volunteers. In a small number of cases, specific workshops explicitly invite parents to take an active part. For all live events and meet the author events, it is presumed that parents will accompany their children.

Will there be food and drink for sale?
Yes, food and drink are available for sale during the festival from Aubaine, our on-site café!

I am a special needs child. Can I attend workshops and events?
Notify us before booking (skkf@institutfrancais.org.uk) so we make sure the event is suitable. We are not able to provide extra assistance during the workshop or event: if you need a carer, do come along with him or her.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes. Events will mostly take place on the first floor, but there is an elevator for wheelchairs and people with limited mobility.

Does the Institut français have a parking lot?
No, there is only street parking. Why not take the bus (14, 49, 70, 74, 345, 360, 414, 430, C1) or the Tube (South Kensington station, Piccadilly, Circle and District lines)?

Can I bring my pet?
No, we’re very sorry. Pets are not allowed at the Institut français.
